I volumi proposti per la pubblicazione sono valutati secondo rigorosi criteri di qualità scientifica, in conformità con le migliori pratiche condivise dalle comunità di ricercatori e dagli editori internazionali. I testi pubblicati sono sottoposti a una valutazione preliminare da parte del Comitato editoriale delle Edizioni che ne verifica la qualità scientifica e la coerenza con le linee editoriali della casa editrice.
Devono quindi ottenere il parere favorevole da parte di almeno due valutatori esperti della materia, attraverso un processo di revisione anonima peer review condotta sotto la responsabilità del Comitato editoriale.
I valutatori esprimono un giudizio qualitativo sui testi proposti, considerando in particolare i seguenti aspetti: rilevanza, originalità e carattere innovativo della ricerca; metodologia seguita; coerenza e qualità dell’argomentazione e dell’esposizione; completezza e accuratezza dei riferimenti bibliografici.

Il giudizio sintetico dei valutatori può consistere nelle seguenti formulazioni:

  • accettato
  • accettato con modifiche minori
  • accettato con modifiche consistenti
  • rifiutato.

Esso può essere accompagnato da un commento che ne chiarisca le motivazioni.
Nel caso in cui uno dei valutatori esprima un giudizio negativo, il Responsabile editoriale, d’intesa con il Comitato editoriale, può sottoporre il testo a un terzo parere.
Se i valutatori hanno richiesto modifiche al testo, l’autore deve consegnare una seconda versione, la cui accettazione sarà ulteriormente subordinata al parere favorevole del Comitato editoriale.
Al termine del processo di peer review, il Responsabile editoriale verifica che il testo rispetti le norme redazionali e, se necessario, richiede all’autore di intervenire per adeguarlo agli standard stabiliti. Il processo è quindi concluso e la redazione avvia l’iter di pubblicazione.
Quest’ultimo prevede l’editing integrale del testo e la verifica della sua conformità alle norme editoriali della casa editrice; la produzione e la gestione di metadati utili alla disseminazione della ricerca pubblicata. Tutti i testi pubblicati sono dotati di isbn e doi e sono liberamente consultabili e scaricabili dal sito dell’editore.

Editorial Process and Peer Review

The works proposed for publication are evaluated according to rigorous criteria of scientific quality, in accordance with the best practices shared by the international research communities and publishers. The published texts are subjected to a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Board of the Edizioni, which verifies their scientific quality and coherence with the editorial line of the Publisher.
They must then obtain a favorable opinion from at least two evaluators who are experts in the field, through an anonymous review process conducted under the responsibility of the Editorial Board.
Reviewers express a qualitative judgment on the proposed texts, considering in particular the following aspects: relevance, originality and new insights; research methods; consistency and quality of the argumentation and presentation; completeness and accuracy of the bibliographical references.

The Reviewers have to determine if the text is:

  • accepted
  • accepted with request of minor revision
  • accepted with request of major revision
  • rejected

The Reviewers can justify their decision by adding a discursive comment to their judgment.
In the event that one of the Reviewers expresses a negative judgment, the Editor-in-Chief, in agreement with the Editorial Board, may submit the text to a third Reviewer.
If the Reviewers have requested changes to the text, the Author must provide a second version, whose acceptance will be further subject to the favorable opinion of the Editorial Board.
At the end of the peer review process, the Editor-in-Chief verifies that the text complies with the prescribed editorial guidelines and, if necessary, requests the Author to adapt the text to the established standards. The process is then concluded and the editorial staff starts the publication process.
The latter involves the complete editing of the text and the verification of its compliance with the editorial guidelines of the publishing house ; the production and management of metadata useful for the dissemination of the published research. All published texts are assigned a ISBN and a DOI and can be freely consulted and downloaded from the Publisher’s website.
